The joys of post-production. Jake and Ryan are slogging through the movie, cleaning up all the little cuts in dialogue that are so important to pacing. We're also looking at some more major surgeries, moving problem scenes around or cutting them altogether. We're trying to have picture lock in a month, so that Jake can go back to Houston and be a daddy. The upshot of all this is that our somewhate bloated first cut is now down to a svelte 100 minutes, and pacing and flow are already much better. We'll be contacting some of you for voice over/ADR stuff soon, so that Ryan doesn't have to do the falsetto Karen voice when we're watching the diary scenes.

We have finished principal photography! We had a long slog last weekend to finish the fight scene in the abandoned warehouse last weekend, and the footage looks really good. Special thanks to John Kuhlman and Santa Fe Seconds for allowing us into their gigantic warehouse of random stuff. We'll be editing it together, shooting a title sequence, and putting together all the myriad facets of postproduction. Also, a viewing party. Much has changed even since the version that some people saw on the cabin trip. We'll let you know.

The new website is up. I buried Ryan's code face down in an unmarked grave with a stake through it's heart, so it will never trouble us again. Please send questions, comments, barnyard animal noises, rude gestures to:

(But remove the word SPAM from the address before you send it).

I added a direct link to the YouTube page that hosts the trailer. If it isn't loading from here, try going to the source. If that doesn't work for you, I don't know. I am not an internet genius. Also as an addendum, I must make a correction to our last posting. Jake is not in fact 6. He turned 13, and is becoming a surly teenager.

To celebrate Jake's birthday (he's 6 today!) I've finished up a lot of the website. A few links are up on the contact/links page (production mostly), I've started a cast/crew list, and most importantly I've fixed the stills page, and added new stills to boot! Enjoy!

Max, Jake, Ryan and Val have been catching up on old noir movies these last few weeks for inspiration and entertainment. We highly recommend anyone who hasn't seen them to check out 'Touch of Evil' and 'The Third Man'. Orson Wells does and astounding job in both movies, and the photography is brilliant. Also, we sometimes have been working on the movie also.

We've re-digitized the final footage from the tapes (all that was lost when the old external HD crashed) meaning we will be finishing up the rough cut very soon! Also the trailer v.1.5 will be online soon, with some fixes and new scenes added from the newly captured material. Take note!

A trailer has been cut. Actor Mark Brunetti (Tonio in the movie) is attending the International Film Market in Santa Monica this weekend to promote the film 'Davey Crockett', and will be showing around copies of our trailer to potential investors! We are super excited about the opportunities this provides! Max has put together a press packet as well for promotion, and both the trailer and press package are available through this website. Get the word out!
